Job Description

The Senior Marketing Manager, Seller Development, is an exciting new account management role in Amazon Services that extends the benefits of expert account management to large numbers of sellers.  

 

To do this, the account manager develops and delivers innovative, scalable and purpose-driven outreach programs to help groups of sellers achieve specific performance improvements. The account manager has responsibilities for improving seller performance across all Amazon Services offerings.

Sales of products by third-party sellers on our websites represent more than one-third of units sold, and the Seller Services business is growing faster than our Retail business. As an organization, Amazon’s North American Seller Services is uniquely highly influential by coordinating across Amazon Customers, Amazon Category teams and Amazon Sellers. We are a business development organization; we drive growth for over 2MM Amazon Sellers through business intelligence, cross-selling efforts and integrated Account Management. We are successful by focusing on aggressive growth for our Sellers’ businesses.

The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and will be accustomed to making data-driven decisions.  They rigorously plan their activities in accordance with strategic objectives. They use data and their understanding of how sellers use our products to identify addressable seller segments.

The account manager will interface internally with leaders of our product management, seller support, account management, marketing and sales teams. They are comfortable working in cross-functional organizations, can easily identify interdependencies and develop influence with other teams.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Identify and realize opportunities to improve revenue and operational performance for large numbers of sellers.

- Use one-to-many techniques such as webinars to provide sellers with recommendations, coaching, business intelligence and other traditional benefits of account management.

- Implement a means to accurately measure the impact of outreach initiatives.

- Identify, design and champion ways to help other account managers scale the number of accounts they can effectively manage.

- Coordinate related outbound activities with marketing, seller support and product management teams.

Basic Qualifications

- 4-6 years professional experience
- Retail e-commerce experience and knowledge
- Experience managing webinars, email marketing campaigns and other one-to-many applications.
- Experience using analysis to gather data for the purpose of making business decisions
- Experience setting and meeting agressive performance goals.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to work closely with sellers, product management teams, seller support, and internal customers to identify and meet their needs
- Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent communication skills, including comfort with C-level interaction
- Highly analytical with passion for data
- Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects across multiple teams.
- MBA desired
