Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the development, implementation and improvements to fabrication processes and equipment to ensure meeting production goals within budget. 
  • Oversees manufacturing from the planning to final completion stages to ensure success in manufacturing projects.
  • Coordinates with the superintendent and supervisors to plan, schedule, and set priorities on the shop floor.
  • Analyzes, monitors, and reports production performance to the director.
  • Assists production superintendent in appropriate staffing to meet the strategic operating goals.
  • Establishes methods to avoid rework and repair to reduce cost and increase productivity. 
  • Resolves manufacturing issues and implements preventive and correct actions.
  • Interacts with all levels of personnel to communicate goals and objectives for each project.
  • Determines training needs and helps to cross-train and improve current skills of production workers.

Job Requirements


Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Possess 5 or more years experience in steel fabrication, with a background in machining, welding, stamping, and forming.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing preferred.
  • Understands the manufacturing process and materials for steel fabrication industry with CNC and manual machining knowledge.
  • Able to analyze blueprints, specifications, scope of work and other documentation.
  • Results oriented.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) AutoCAD, and Projects.
