Position Summary The Account Manager II position is a customer focused consultative account management/sales position within our Business Class commercial service team. Individuals in this position will own the customer experience and are responsible for, but not limited to, the integrity of existing customer accounts, serve as customer’s primary point of contact for issue escalation and resolution, upsell of carrier class data transport, voice, data/Internet and video services to existing customers, as well as the renewal and retention of customers.
Essential Job Functions: •Responsible for existing customer upsell and contract renewal within the assigned mid-market and Enterprise segments •Ensure customer account accuracy and integrity through data gathering, analysis and corrective action oversight as necessary •Identify and communicate risks within assigned accounts and work with management to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies •Position involves field sales activities with travel to customer locations as needed •Responsible for achieving a monthly revenue quota in data, phone and video sales •Develops customer centric solutions and delivers sales proposal on product benefits •Clearly understands and communicates the company’s value proposition •Maintains all sales databases necessary to report sales activity and customer information •Works with Account Executive and Account Consultant teams to insure timely handoff of sold accounts for ongoing management and retention •Works effectively with other business services support groups including, but not limited to, sales support, order entry, customer service, billing, finance, and commercial engineering •Attends all sales meetings and training sessions as required by management Preferred Qualifications: •Requires four or more years of account management, preferably managing and selling to customer portfolios comprised of carrier class data transport services, Internet, voice and video solutions in the commercial telecommunications market •Data mining, analytical skills and project management skills are required •Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills are required •Ability to multitask, as well as work efficiently and effectively within required deadlines meeting and exceeding expected results •The ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge, along with the ability to effectively work in a team environment is required •Proficiency in MS Excel, Word required; familiarity and/or proficiency with Visio preferred Education and Experience: •Bachelors degree from a four year college or university preferred or equivalent training, education and experience •Telecommunications industry experience required with comprehensive understanding of customer telecommunications applications Travel Requirements: Customer site visits as necessary |
