Job Description
Responsible for implementation of the strategic plan to make Devereux the ?charity of choice? for individuals, corporations and foundations. Assist the Executive Director with the annual fund; donor relations; foundation relations; public relations; and special events. Responsible for donor acknowledgment process, including data entry, tracking and acknowledgment. Provides technical assistance, research and guidance to internal and external customers. Developing, planning and executing development activities to include but not limited to community outreach and networking. Promoting positive goal-directed responses and/or interactions between external and internal entities including civic and community agencies, corporations, foundations and individuals to increase fund development opportunities. Identifying and researching prospective donors. Responsible for full implementation of donor acknowledgment process, including working to continually improve and refine system. Analyze donor data to help create strategies to upgrade response rate and average gift amounts.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing/Public Relations, or Journalism preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years professional experience in fund-raising, preferably in the Human Service field, with direct experience in managing annual giving efforts. Additional training in charitable giving preferred. Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements: Requires walking and standing ? to ? of the workday; ? to ? of the workday sitting. Frequently requires stooping, bending. Occasionally requires lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Requires vision and physical ability to regularly operate Devereux vehicles. Requires physical ability to successfully perform CPR, First Aid procedures, and Crisis Prevention/Intervention techniques. Significant and frequent use of physical requirements associated with verbal and written communication. Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
