Job Description

Coordinates and performs the maintenance of Pocono Center buildings and grounds in accordance with foundation policy and licensure requirements. Responsible for assisting in building repair and carpentry, plumbing and electrical, painting, lawn care, snow removal, as well as maintaining equipment and tools in proper working order, under direct supervision of Maintenance Supervisor. Performs other duties, special assignments, and projects as required.

Job Requirements

Education: Trade or High School Diploma

Experience: At least three years' experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting, or electrical field.  Must possess a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years of age. 

Physical Requirements:  Requires 3/4 to 4/4 of the workday standing, walking, and stooping/bending.  Regularly required to lift weights up to 75 lbs.  Regularly operates equipment and tools with moving parts.  Regularly operates Devereux vehicles.   Must have a valid driver*s license with a good driving record.  Regularly works inside and outside of buildings. Some exposure to fluctuating temperatures.  Often exposed to chemicals, cleaning, solvents and biological hazards.  Protective equipment:  1/2 face respirator, facial mask, steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.  Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Work Environment: Regularly works with clients with unpredictable behavior. Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately ventilated and lighted. Some fluctuation in temperature. May occasionally work outside while accompanying clients on off-site activities and appointments.
