PURPOSE: Focus upon acquiring new customers and also upgrading existing subscribers by working in assigned areas through door to door contacts, and to maintain a strong working relationship between the customer and Time Warner Cable. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Direct Sales Representative—Direct Sales Supervisor—Direct Sales Manager—Director of Direct Sales—Vice President of Sales ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Contacting active as well as non-active accounts within the one-hundred-twenty {120} non-active addresses (a batch) assigned each week, and the activities surrounding those addresses, including the ability to audit from the ground. • Follow up on generated sales leads that require a home visit or phone contact. • Provide quality customer service in the field to all current or prospective subscribers. • Meet or exceed department goals concerning sales productivity. • Report accurate sales activity and submit payment collections on a daily basis. • Demonstrating how to use features of TWC equipment and explain products benefits to the customer. • Call on each non-active home and resolve back balances through collection of balances or disconnection of services, collect unreturned equipment or sell customers new services. • Responsibility includes scheduling customer installations and to verify that the person listed on the street address is the person contacted at the location. • Audit assigned areas to investigate unauthorized service regularly. • Building good customer relations in order to sell new/additional services to meet customer’s needs to keep the sales channel open. • Must have the ability to deal with problems involving customers and several variables in different situations as well as maintain a professional attitude at all times. • Formulate competitive intelligence and relative reporting to maximize early detection of competitor’s strategies. Report competitive activity on weekly basis. • Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. • Attend department meetings as scheduled. • Other duties as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Outdoors conditions may include wet or humid, extreme cold or extensive heat. Job includes working inside complexes, as well as in home environments. HUMAN RELATIONS SKILLS REQUIRED: Interact with customers, complex management, department management, and other employees. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • College or business degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: • Previous sales and marketing experience required. • Valid driver’s license, safe motor vehicle record, and a reliable vehicle with insurance are also necessary. COMMUNICATION SKILL LEVEL: • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Necessary understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
