Comcast Corporation owns a controlling 51% interest in NBCUniversal, with GE holding a 49% stake. | | Experienced | | New York | | New York | | United States | | The Vice President, Benefits is responsible for the implementation and overall administration of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, capital appreciation plans, work-life employee programs, benefit policies and, in coordination with Comcast, health and welfare plans. The Vice President is responsible for monitoring legislation and other compliance rules and regulations and communicating them to HR leadership, business leaders and other members of senior management to ensure that required administrative processes are in place and are functioning as intended. The Vice President evaluates the status of existing plans, programs and policies with respect to cost, efficiency and level of employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities Single point of contact for senior management for all benefit-related issues. The Vice President confers with higher-level management regarding the cost, administration and effectiveness of all benefit plans, programs and policies. Reviews all benefit plans, programs and policies to ensure that they are consistent with the organization’s guiding principles. Recommends changes to enhance employee satisfaction, competitive position and cost efficiency. Monitors legislative and regulatory changes affecting plan design and administration, and sets policy and plan administration guidelines consistent with legal requirements and sound business practices. Stays current on benefit issues impacting plan features, vendors and operations, including Sarbanes-Oxley, Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA and Health Care Reform. Mitigates financial and compliance risk and is responsible for all compliance-related benefit issues, including, annual valuations, non-discrimination testing, invoice payments, financial audits, government filings and employee notifications. Makes presentations to management committees on benefit-related issues. Accountable for the day-to-day administration of benefit plans, programs and policies, ensuring that processes are documented and are consistently and fairly implemented. Conducts in-depth analyses and benchmarking of current plans and programs. Ensures that systems and processes are accurate and meet the needs of active and retired employees. Identifies opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency. Monitors benefits of competitive organizations. Investigates and resolves management and employee concerns with respect to the administration of benefit plans and programs. Consults on international benefit issues. Supervises, coaches and mentors staff, identifying development, improvement and engagement opportunities that support and encourage high performance. Builds and maintains relationships with other departments in the organization with respect to benefit matters. Provides analysis and guidance to Payroll, Legal, Labor Relations, Business Affairs, Finance, Medical Services and HR. Provides input regarding benefit issues related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Is the point of contact for other departments. | | Minimum of 10 years supervisory experience with a combination of qualified and non-qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans, health and welfare plans, and executive benefit plans, including, design, administration, cost analysis and compliance Displays strong understanding of legal, finance, tax and accounting principles as they relate to benefits, including, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and the Health Reform Act Subject matter expert who is strategic, analytic and employs sound business judgment in decision-making. Must be comfortable in making presentations to senior management Bachelor’s degree is required. A graduate degree in a related field is preferred
