DESCRIPTION:

The person will participate at various levels in all technology related initiatives from inception to implementation and support.  Through in-depth knowledge of the business, this position will document business processes, develop needs analysis, document functional & technical specifications, perform system & user acceptance testing, and effectively communicate specific financial concepts to development and testing staff.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as project manager, business analyst, subject matter expert, and tester for small to mid-sized technology initiatives spanning the entire investment lifecycle


• Provide documentation, testing, and support for back office and reporting systems.


• Liaise between developers and investment or  finance professionals to deliver risk management and performance reports and back office system enhancements


• Drive data quality improvements across systems


• Work with development team to drive SDLC process and ensure work products are in alignment with requirements

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:

• Experienced in analysis and support for investment related systems (i.e. trading, research management, accounting, financial data warehouse)


• Experience working with risk management reporting, return & performance reporting, trade reporting


• Comfortable writing moderately complex queries using Microsoft SQL Server 2005+ databases


• Hands on experience using Bloomberg or other major market data provider


• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle


• Understanding of data warehousing concepts a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understanding of investment risk and performance calculations


• Strong understanding of equity and equity derivatives


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Advanced degree or equivalent experience


• CFA or working towards CFA a plus
