Job Description
Classification:  Purchasing Manager

Compensation:  $16.00 to $20.00 per hour

Columbus Buyer/Purchasing Consultant will be responsible for the following items on a daily basis.

Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data
Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information
Knowledge of supply chain management
Interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with team members & suppliers
proven ability to manage multiple conflicting projects to successful conclusions.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain the indirect teams purchasing/stocking strategy that ensures continuity of supply to the manufacturing process at the lowest cost of ownership. Considerations to be given to:
The criticality of items.
The footprint required to stock the item.
The number of turns.
The location of key suppliers.
The requirement of work within the supplier database being developed by corporate indirect Purchasing whenever possible.
The requirement to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) being developed and deployed by the MRO Corporate steering team.
In their specialized fields they will be involved in but not limited to:
Providing sourcing data to the indirect team and CMEP plant staff as well as CIP.
Obtaining competitive quotations for the indirect team.
Assisting the team to achieve continuity of supply and on-time delivery.
Assisting the team to reach & maintain KPI goals and preparing cost savings reports for CIP team.
Resolving technical and quality issues.
Providing subject matter expertise and supplier input to CIP team and MRO FE team
Providing cost reduction opportunities, supporting 6 sigma projects and assisting with CIP lead sourcing events.
Improving supplier relationships.
Providing internal/external improvement opportunities for consideration in pursuit of functional excellence.

Job Requirements
Candidates with 3+ years experience in Buying/Purchasing as well as prior manufacturing experience will be preferred.
