Our client is looking for a Designer for a 6-9 month project to start immediately in Sacramento, CA.
We want someone with over 4000 hours in Catia v5, (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) is a multi- platform CAD/CAM/CAE commercial software suite, someone who has drawing creation skills, has experience with GD&T. Exchange of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) information between CAD systems.
Like to see formal training if possible. Local candidates are preferred, but we are open.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advanced knowledge of CATIA/SolidWorks
Drafting
Modeling
Surfacing
Composite Modeler and Drafter
Advanced knowledge of GD&T.
Proficient with AutoCAD.
Proficient with wire harnesses, fuel systems, aircraft control systems, powerplants, communications and avionics equipment.
Proficient with composite manufacturing and plastic compression mold tooling.
Proficient with composite assembly tooling.
Proficient with MS Project and Access.
Confers with design originator, appropriate engineering and other personnel in preparing and finalizing design concepts.
Prepares preliminary sketches, models, or diagrams reflecting basic design concept.
Using appropriate software, prepares sketches, models and/or complete detail and layout drawings from verbal or written instructions on products and/or equipment.
Recommends changes or modifications as appropriate.
Prepares and models final layout, detail and assembly drawings.
Prepares, revises and processes the generation of the graphical portion of Engineering Change Notices for jobs.
Works with engineering to identify problems with performance or tool life and recommends solutions or enhancements.
Follows safety precautions.
Ensures that the work area and equipment are kept clean.
Complies with established QMS procedures.
Works under minimal supervision.
Performs work of advanced complexity.
Conducts advanced stress analysis using Cosmos.
Has frequent outside contacts as liaison with engineering, suppliers, and customers.
Responsible for day to day configuration control.
Sets up and maintains an Intranet Web Site.
Ensures that others’ design skills are up to date and provides training on CAD, CAD standards, and GD&T.
Provides technical guidance to less skilled Designers and design support personnel as required.
