Kelly Engineering is in search for a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler or a Production Supervisor for a
textile company located in the San Fernando Valley area.
Must have Machine Shop knowledge and be able to calculate time standards for machined parts using both conventional and CNC machining methods. Creates the engineering and planning for machined parts using MRP/ERP computer generated manufacturing software. Release existing BOM plans for existing parts that have new order releases.
Maintain, analyze and updates the BOM master files on a continuing basis for all master methods whenever necessary.
Release new and existing BOM s to the floor for production.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards using the computer master methods files.
Analyzes and plans setup times, cycle times and tooling requirements for maximum efficiency.
Confers with machine shop staff concerning part design and tooling required to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and plan for purchase of services, materials, or parts using the computer to specify in detail the purchasing requirements.
Writes purchase instructions according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimate production times, outside processing requirements and relates costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confers with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate optimum production processes.
Maintain, analyze and updates the BOM master files for all manufactured parts that can be audited by the quality department to current quality standards.
Develop standard manufacturing methods masters in an abridged but accurate manner to be used by estimating as a template in calculating accurate planning and pricing.
Assist estimating in quoting manufacture requests for quotations using the estimating and quote entry system.
Training and Experience: Between 4 and 10 years of experience in a machine shop environment, vocational education, work experience or apprenticeship desired. College degree in Engineering is desired.
