Role Summary/Purpose:

As part the Business System Delivery Group within Epicor’s IS organization, the Business Systems Manager will be responsible for analyzing, planning, development and delivery of business applications for the Accounting/Finance departments of Epicor. The BSM will handle all Systems Delivery activities, including requirements gathering; project planning, schedule management, project status updates and training & documentation for medium to large scale initiatives. He/she will work with business representatives (Business Process Owners) to define the scope of the engagement, timeline and project delivery schedule, while working within IS in a matrix environment to develop and deliver the solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with business representatives (BPOs) to manage accounting/finance customer requirements and expectations, including prioritizing medium and large scale system implementation or enhancement requests
• Gather detailed requirements and complete appropriate documentations to reflect the scope of engagements (business requirement document, functional requirement document, etc.)
• Perform evaluation, selection, installation, management and documentation of financial business systems or enhancements for the entire organization.
• Build project plans and schedules for approved initiatives.
• Co-ordinate with other IS groups (Information Resources Management & Development, Production Operations, Network & Services, etc.) to ensure that approved initiatives are delivered on time within budget
• Manage project team members, external vendors, including consultants, contractors, etc engaged on specific initiatives
• Provide periodic status reports on project progress to IS and Business leadership teams using standard PMO tool set
• The BSM may be required to manage project teams of varying sizes, if required for large-scale projects.
• This position will be entrusted with procuring and implementing functional are automated business systems in a computing environment of several million dollars over the next few years
• Project budgets can range from $100k to several Million $
• The BSM may need to recommend and acquire hardware and software with estimated costs of $500K

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business or related field.
• At least 6 + years of experience with IT project management and business system implementation, with experience in at least 2 of the following areas: systems analysis, project management, application design and implementation, systems architecture and business analysis.
• Experience with implementing at least one ERP-Finance solution/module of Tier 1/Tier 2 ERP systems (example – JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
• Prior work for top tier consulting firm is desirable
• Demonstrated leadership skills in systems implementation with a focus on methodology
• Professional presence and demeanor in both communication and presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written skills are very essential
• Experience collaborating with others in IS and Business to deliver shared results. Ability to achieve results without necessarily having a reporting relationship
• Ability to understand sales/marketing processes, their interdependencies and typical challenges (lead generation process, lead qualification, opportunity management, quote generation, order processing, etc.)
• Demonstrated business systems planning analysis skills
• Technical understanding of business application systems and their underlying hardware
• Familiar with industry standard SDLC methodologies, tools and techniques
• Well organized, self-motivated individual who can work with little or no direction
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and upper management in both business and technical areas
