JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Sr. Lab Technician - Salaried Non-exempt

 

This person is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

         Primary responsibility will be to program, operate, and maintain CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)

         Provide Team Leadership and Guidance for the Lab and Inspection

         Knowledge and understanding of all Safety/Environmental rules and regulations

         Utilize test equipment and instrumentation to perform various tests and qualifications of various products to ensure that specifications are met

         Perform final inspection and other quality related tasks as directed by the Quality Manager

         Assure compliance with customer specifications

         Interact with production, management and customers to resolve quality issues

         Assist in quality investigations and quality problem solving

         Create inspection maps

         Part mark and package finished product per specification

         Determine that all product documentation is correct and properly signed by the appropriate personnel. Including supplier and product Cof C’s

         Enter requisitions for subcontracting and supplies

         Perform receiving inspection for incoming product from suppliers

         Identify conforming and non-conforming product using applicable standards, codes, and maintain segregation

         Enter data into ATIFS and customer systems as needed to comply with customer requirements. Generate appropriate activity reports.

         Evaluate and quantify customer returns and complete necessary documentation.

         Cross train on other jobs performed within the Quality department.

         Perform other related duties as assigned

Equipment Used: A wide variety of testing equipment and instrumentation

 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

         Knowledge and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (Zeiss experience, a Plus)

         Ability to use technical gages as required

         Advanced Mathematical Skills (Algebra and Trigonometry)

         Excellent written and oral communication skills

         Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

         Must be able to read at a technical level and follow verbal and written instructions to include: blueprints, engineering orders, and specifications, GD&T knowledge preferred.

         Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment

         Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure in a demanding fast paced environment

         Knowledge of manufacturing processes

         Ability to successfully complete quality training specified by customers.

 

 

 

Job Requirements

Experience Guidelines:

         Minimum of 2 years experience working in inspection or a related environment.

 

Education Guidelines:

         Two year Certificate or Degree in Machine Shop Technology or a technical discipline
